What Happened to 'The Woof Hub?

In 2021 I started The Woof Hub as a multi-service brand that wanted to, at first offer daycare, training, grooming & retail. In November 2021 we proudly opened our first 'hub' on Gateford Road in Worksop which started out to offer daycare to our clients. I had already been our in the training field training dogs in Worksop for 6 months previous. This allowed us to see 2 of our elements come to life.
In March 2022 The Woof Tub opened it's doors as our grooming salon. It immediately grew a large client base and within the first 3 months we had over 150 clients on our books.
Fast forward to April 2023 and our premises on Gateford Road had rapidly been outgrew. We had hid our maximum capacity of 8 dogs a day in daycare and no availability to take on new clients. We had to move! We found an amazing property on Carlton Road, still in Worksop, which proved perfect for our growing business.
With the move came the launch of retail! We teamed up with Togo's Pet Supplies who rented the retail space in our shop. We were so proud to finally have all the services we wanted to offer under one roof. The vision had become a reality.
However in January 2024 that vision came crashing down with the announcement that Togo's were closing their business leaving the retail space empty. We decided to go it alone and launched our own shop called Piper's Pantry. The vision was to always have other groomers, other retail spaces and to expand our areas of training but we knew this 'idea' of multiple 'Woof Hubs' was an idea that didn't work well as a concept in reality.
Pipers Pantry opened in May 2024 and by August 2024 it had closed. I HATED doing the retail side to the business and found it to be costly, competitive and unnecessary. The daycare, training and grooming all stood out as stand alone services but retail wasn't for us. Shutting the doors on this idea and element to the business meant I really needed to rethink it's future. By this point I was exhausted, money was tight and I had lost all faith in my vision. The Woof Hub, The Woof Tub, The Woof Club and Pipers Pantry no longer flowed and it became difficult to advertise, brand or make streamline. The business no longer worked as I had hoped and I had no idea how to turn it round anymore.
It was through a wonderful friend and great network of support that I found some strength to carry on. I brainstormed, thought about what was important to me and began to see a new vision all together. Together we came up with the branding for 'Total Dog'. Total Dog just felt perfect. It gave me a whole new vision for the future and where I wanted to take the business. I was now going to focus on growing three very separate businesses so that they could expand and grow in their own unique way.
Total Dog Daycare Ltd brings about the luxury home from home daycare service in Worksop ONLY. This area won't expand and will only have our daycare centre here. We offer work experience for those training in the field and support collages such as Dearne Valley, North Notts and Sheffield College. We are the only dog daycare that offers a purpose built home from home environment in Bassetlaw. All the staff team are qualified to a minimum Level 3 in Animal Management, alongside Canine Behaviour, Canine First Aid and CPR. We know what dogs want and their welfare is at the heart of everything we do.
Total Dog Training & Behaviour Ltd has gone from strength to strength and has since expanded their services into Derbyshire with the employment of a Animal Behaviourist, Hattie White. Hattie is currently doing her masters degree and looks to qualify as an Clinical Animal Behaviourist in 2026. This gave me so much more support with the training side of the business, not only meaning we can cover a wider area for training but also means I had less pressure to cover all clients on my own while running the business, managing daycare and pushing all our services. I wanted to focus more on my holistic training approach and I recently trademarked the Harmonising Bond Method™. My approach gives the dogs a chance to rebalance their energy centres allowing for a more balanced, well rounded approach to training. As dog trainers we only practice positive reinforcement training techniques and are proud of our knowledge and expertise. Our Chakra Balancing Workshop is CPD Approved and we plan to offer more CPD Workshops in the future.
Total Dog Grooming Ltd is our area of most expansion since opening. We are an approved training centre offering in-house training to student dog groomers. Our head groom is Level 3 qualified with City & Guilds and holds her Advanced Dog Grooming Certificate too. Alyssia prides herself on her experience and attention to detail and enjoys passing on her knowledge for groomers who join our team whether that be for training as a student or as a new colleague. In 2025 our groomers went through a huge expansion and we now occupy a large area within the premises to train and groom dogs. We never turn a new client away and will always keep our books open.
As I go into 2026 I do so with pride, excitement and a big sigh of relief that I made it through some of the toughest times I've ever experienced in business. I look forward to spending my time focusing on the Harmonising Bond Method ™, welcoming new clients into daycare and seeing grooming continue to expand. By the end of 2026 it's the dream to open a new grooming salon in Retford... but letf get over this year first!
So thats what happened to The Woof Hub and why. But, I think you'll all agree, Total Dog is AWESOME!
